Gov. Chris Christie: “I need the gays to know I just hate them for being who they are”

TRENTON, NEW JERSEY — After signing the bill into law banning “gay conversion therapy” otherwise known as “reparative therapy” Governor Chris Christie told a crowd of onlookers why he was in favor of the law.

“Now listen, I don’t want there to be any sort of confusion on this matter. Many will look at this bill as a sign that I value gay individuals as equals. I don’t. I completely believe they are born that way and that’s what this new law shows. This doesn’t mean I think they should be equal though. I still don’t think they should get married or have the equal rights and benefits of a straight couple. That’s just bonkers. I need the gays to know I just hate them for being who they are. I know they’re gay, but that doesn’t mean they deserve equality. I still think they’re icky and gross.”

While many from the LGBT community at first saw this new law as a step in the right direction they are quickly waking up to the fact that they are being shoved under the bus on purpose. The fact is, if Gov. Christie believed in gay rights he’d back marriage equality and all the benefits therein, but he doesn’t, and it doesn’t look like he will any time soon.
